United Gulf Construction Co. (UGCC) has been awarded the first of Kuwait’s major city development projects issued under the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW). The Sabah Al Ahmed Residential City project value is approximately $450 million USD (KD 127.9 million) and consists of the construction of (930) houses, (5) schools, (6) mosques, miscellaneous public service buildings, electrical transformer substations, road works, and complete infrastructure services. The project is expected to be completed in 1080 days from the date of commencement and will require a skilled workforce of more 6,500 people to execute the works. New city developments are included in Kuwait’s plan to meet the demands of its fast growing population and UGCC’s project shall be the model for the implementation of the proposed schemes.
